First off, I have to say THANK YOU so much for all the congratulations and well wishes! I was overwhelmed by all the sweet comments on here and facebook! You all are so nice! It’s funny that even some of you had a suspicion when I wrote our love story! haha After reading them all I’m excited to share weekly updates on this growing baby! So here’s the first one 🙂 I am 14 weeks along and due March 21st – the first day of spring! Yay!
I’ve seen other bloggers do posts like this so I thought I’d try it and add my own little twist. I thought it would be nice to write short little notes to Baby to document my pregnancy. I actually wrote one before this and you can read it here.
I’m doing my prenatal care through something called “centering”. Heard of it? Basically instead of going to your regular scheduled OB appointments, you go to “Centering” with a bunch of other women that are due around the same time as you, once a month for 2 hours. The husbands go too. You still get one-on-one time with your midwife/doctor but it offers a bunch of other benefits too. ANYway, at the end of our session last time, we went around and had to fill in the blank “I hope.. I wish… I dream”. I thought it was a cute idea for the blog. So here’s my first…
I know some of you said you were pregnant too so if there is any other pregnant bloggers out there, link up here! I’d love to follow your progress too!
Awesome! I did Centering with my last pregnancy and really loved the group environment. In fact, we’re having a reunion next month! Our babies will be anywhere from 9-11 months then … I’m also on the Mayo Clinic Centering Pregnancy Steering Committee as their patient advocate/representative, so if you have any feedback (good or bad), let me know and I’ll bring it up at the next meeting! (And you’re adorable! Can’t wait to see that baby bump grow!)
Thanks Jackie – Glad to hear you liked Centering!! So far I really like it but have only gone to 1 session. Seems like a great way to do prenatal care!
Many lovely congratulations to you & D on your little blessing!! :] Another wonderful lady that blogs is exactly as far along as you! Natasha @ Hello! Happiness!! http://www.hellohappinessblog.com/
CONGRATULATIONS! Wow how exciting. And goodness, you Hicks sisters make the most gorgeous pregnant women on the planet 🙂 Glad to hear that the morning sickness is coming to an end. I wish you and your growing family so much happiness and many blessings. I will continue to pray that you have a stress free pregnancy and sending lots of health and love to your little one <3
This is amazing!!! Congrats you gorgeous Mama to Be 🙂 You look amazing and completely radiant! xo
kelly i forgot to tell you yesterday night at my church i prayer for you that you and the baby will be ok=) CONGRATS THOUGH I LOVE BABYS<3
HEY– that shirt looks familiar 🙂
love the letters to baby.
love it. so excited to follow, even though im not pregnant anymore i miss the belly!! my husband and i used to do “tummy time” every night for ten min. where we each put our hands on my belly and just talked to the baby. told (him) things we did for him, bought, made etc, how excited we were. basically all love and all about the baby. i had a midwife tell me that ten min a day of that kind of positive love and energy can erase an entire day or stress that a baby can feel!
we did that, and right after my son was born, my husband bent down and said “hey little man”, which he ALWAYS said to my belly, and straton reached up, grabbed my husbands hands and stopped crying. it was magical. i recommend belly time!
Rachel – Thanks for the tip! I checked out her blog and I love it!
Emma – That is so sweet of you to remember me in your prayers! You have no idea how much I appreciate that!!
Jennifer – Wow that’s amazing – thanks for the tip! What a great way to start bonding with the baby. I love the idea of “erasing stress” from the day! That sounds like something we will definitely do!
Yep, all of those wishes hopes and dreams have crossed my mind at some point during my pregnancy. Pukeing–so not the best time in my life. I am about 36 weeks along now. In the beginning time moved slowly, but now the days are flying by and I am not nursery ready! Good luck to you. I recommend yoga ( I know, don’t laugh) and otter pops. Those two things got me through alot of rough stuff.
just seeing the news now… CONGRATS!!!! i’m excited to follow your progress through this time. my husband and i are a year into the adoption process, so i constantly have babies on the mind 🙂
kelly i remember when you were at my cabin when we all sat by the campfire i over heard you and D talking i didnt hear the hole thing but i heard KIDS!! and i am like in my mind is she preagnet? and then you told us the news
congrats!! i could barely remember the nasty first trimester symptoms by the end of my pregnancy. and, i have to say the outcome is SO worth it! i had my baby girl 7 weeks ago. 🙂
I’m a little late to the party, but CONGRATS! Praying for a smooth pregnancy and a healthy little babe! Much love!
I can’t believe I’ve missed all this! I follow your blog on bloglovin but for some reason it hasn’t shown your posts since just before this one! I’m due to have our first baby in just over three weeks, I can’t believe how time has flown! Hope everything is going well for you xxx
