Yesterday on our evening stroll around our neighborhood, I asked D what he thought about fatherhood. Acknowledging he didn’t know much about it only being 2 years in, he admitted it was pretty scary. Being responsible for the eternity of someone’s soul is a lot of pressure he explained. I learned he wants to be a Godly example to Jack – he just isn’t sure what that exactly looks like. Which is one of the reasons he explained for taking steps towards his relationship with the Lord. He then shared with me what he had recently read in our church bulletin:
“It is better to teach your children to walk in the shadow of your grace, than to walk on egg shells in the fear of your anger.”
I am thankful for D today. For his humility, honesty, willingness to learn and lead, and openness to God’s will. Jack and I are so blessed to have you in our lives!
It really is such a heavy responsibility and such an enormous blessing at the same time! Thank God for husbands who love Him.
beautiful! …and agree…parenthood can be scary sometimes right!?
lovely photos!
LOVE the pictures and I love that your posts are always so heartfelt! I am a graphic designer with a little girl that is almost exactly Jack’s age AND I love right next door to you in Wisconsin! I just love reading your blog because I find so much common ground and your adorable vintage style. 🙂
Aww thank you Katie! Nice to hear from a girl after my own heart! 🙂
