Thinking: About my baby with a broken leg! You probably saw this on instagram but Jack hurt his leg going down the slide last week and we (doctors included) all thought it was sprained. I started getting worried though when he wasn’t improving. I made another appointment and it turned out there was a little fracture. They sent me straight to the cast room. He only has to wear it for 3 weeks but it’s really hard watching him get frustrated because he can’t move around like he used to. Plus I had a good dose of Mom-guilt on this one because I was going down the slide with him when he foot got caught under him 🙁
Eating: Our grill has been getting a workout lately. We’ve been using it pretty much every night. Charcoal is best.
Watching: Nashville. This show sucked me in since day 1. Now I’m hooked. I’m a big Decon fan. Anyone else?
Reading: Pharisectomy. I’m only on Chapter 2 but this book is hilariously convicting. It’s been awhile since I read something I can’t wait to pick up again. A little excerpt:
“But I’m living proof that God can use anyone. He has a sense of humor. He has a joy that is greater than anything you can imagine. So stay on the operating table. This Pharisectomy is just getting started. Once you experience this change, it will be downright painful to ever return to lifeless religion again.”
Needing: A big summer bag. I’m stick of carrying around Jack’s giant diaper bag and since he’s older now he doesn’t need as much stuff when we’re out and about. I’ve been searching for a reasonable priced summer-y over-the-shoulder bag for a couple weeks and I can’t find anything I like enough. If any of you have some ideas, send them my way!
Learning: Grace. This will be a life-long lesson but I still think I’m hardwired to think I have to do something to earn God’s love. Nope. It’s freely given. It should be God’s kindness motivating me to good works, not the other way around. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” – Ephesians 2:8
Loving: Our deck. We didn’t use it much last year since we didn’t have any furniture out there but we finally bought a patio set. My mom helped me give the space a little TLC with some potted plants. I would love to paint the floor with some fun colors or patterns and add some lighting. I’ll share when it’s finished! Jack got his own chair out of the deal too ^^. He LOVES it.
Exciting: Jack’s Nursery was featured on Apartment Therapy yesterday!
Link up in the comments if you do a post like this, would love to read what everyone is up to!
LOVE me some Decon! I think the story line with him is brilliant.
My deck needs some serious lovin’. I’m looking forward too seeing what you did! I need furniture ideas.
I bet you would love the big Stella an Dot bags!
Marcia – I looked at the ones from Stella & Dot and I do love them but I want something I can wear across my body and those don’t have long straps :/ I would buy in an instance if they did!
I’m glad Jack’s on the mend. I know it doesn’t help your guilt at all, but I thought you might be interested in this post about slide injuries:

Wow thanks for the share Nickie! Glad someone is talking about it. I just shared on facebook hopefully to prevent more of this injury from happening!
