I’m still trying to figure out how to get things done while having a 3 week old.. hence the late Fashion Friday. Babies are not predictable let me tell you. Just when I think he’s fed and dry, he’s not and it’s starts all over. haha How moms get anything done is a miracle to me. Go moms out there – I’d love to hear your secrets!
I still haven’t tried on my jeans – still waiting for my incision to feel a little better. Soon I hope!
I’m wearing…
Sweater: Macy’s
Tank: Target
Scarf: TJ Maxx
Leggings: Motherhood Maternity
Sandals: Target
oh, i didn’t start to get anything done until Owen was at least 2 months old! i counted it a victory if i got a shower every day!
and don’t pull on those pre-maternity jeans too early; let your incision heal for sure! plus, i realized my hips stayed spread, so i actually went up a jeans size, even though i got back to my pre-pregnancy weight pretty fast. so don’t be sad if you can never get into them again – your body has done something ridiculously amazing!
You look fabulous! I’m amazed at how much you are getting done just posting and sharing on your blog! Way to go!
Kelly-You look amazing, as always! I really didn’t get too much of anything accomplished until our son was about 6wks old, because then I had to go back to work full-time. It began to take 45 minutes to get out of the house to go to the store for one thing! The whole “nap when the baby naps” thing never worked for me because when the baby naps, I want to shower and straighten the house a bit. Don’t stress over that. I found that the Baby Bjorn works wonders to do little things around the house. Beyond all of that, I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. It gets better and even more fun everyday. Just remember that it wont last forever. He will sleep through the night one day and you will too 😉
Robyn-Very well put!
Just found your blog a month ago!
I’m pregnant with my 3rd due in 8 weeks.
You look amazing.
It took me 6-9 months to lose my baby weight and put my jeans back on.
Give yourself time and grace and remember so many of us would love to have our jeans on within the month!
Yikes! I’m down to my pre-pregnancy weight (8 weeks pp), but my jeans still don’t fit! I think my hips need to close back in too! You look great! Can’t believe you have the time to blow out your long hair!! Love your blog!!
I just found you recently through Pinterest 🙂
First, as an aspiring (graduating college in MAY!!!) Designer/amateur (very amateur) photographer, I LOVE looking through your work! It’s very inspiring and beautiful.
Secondly, as a fellow new mom (I have a 6-month-old son, with a very similar birth story) I admire your ability to keep up with your blog! I still have a difficult time keeping up with work and my little man. You seem to be doing fantastic! I hope you’re enjoying that gorgeous little boy of yours. Congratulations!
You seriously look great! I’ve never had a baby so i can imagine it’s gonna take a while to get into a routine for sure. Just make sure you let your body heal before pushing it too hard.
children teach us the ultimate in self sacrifice like right.away. you wonder what you ever did with your time before they were around :/
A bit of sharing about jeans. I’ve had 3 c-sections. My son was born 11 weeks ago. I’ve been sort of squeezing into it jeans with the rubberband trick but finally decided I was tired if being uncomfortable. I didn’t gain much weight but that last
10 lbs is making everything fit not so great. Not yet at least. I’m determined through diet and excercise to get back my body. I guess what I wanted to share is don’t be to hard on yourself. It takes time. This week I broke down and bought a pair of great skinny jeans one size up at Old Navy. I felt so much better yesterday and actually felt thinner not wearing I’ll fitted jeans all day.
Check out Old Navy’s The Rock Star Super Skinny jeans.
You look great as always! Just consider this time as ‘survival mode’. Enjoy this precious time and know how fleeting it is. Life will get easier! It’s okay if everything doesn’t get done. Little Jack won’t stay little for very long!
Lovely!
i am a graphic designer who mostly works for home — and my little one just turned one. so its been a year of tweaking my schedule and life around being a full time mommy while still keeping up with my contractual agreements as a gd. there were days where i got an amazing amount of things done, and there were days where i didn’t. i had to learn not to take it personally and just roll with it. every morning was a new day to try again. that was the hardest part for me. i could never nap while the baby napped like many people mentioned, there was just too much to. for the first six months i functioned on caffeine.
i also used something called a seven day sling. i ordered it online and it was amazing, i would slip him in there and just do what i needed to do around the house, he was content being snuggled up to me and i could get the laundry done, the dishes done, even work and grocery shopping were a breeze. in fact i PLANNED my shopping trips around when i knew he would sleep in the sling.
now he is more independent and my day is falling into a nice little schedule. there are days when i miss the baby that would sleep for 3-4 hours at a time though, i have to get this little mischief a lot of attention of things get … re-arranged. but he sleeps through the night now, so a lot of my work is done in the early hours before he even gets up. anyways … im rambling. it takes time, and you will tweek your schedule over and over — and thats ok. it’s all worth it 🙂
Wow – you look amazing!! Did you really just have a baby??? haha Seriously, you look great! 🙂
