Well here I am, pregnant at 40 weeks! I really didn’t think I would be doing this weekly update so that’s why I put it off until Friday haha. I realize my timing is not God’s timing so I’m trying to be patient! In the meantime, I’ve been drinking more Red Raspberry Leaf tea and plan to walk around the whole neighborhood today. I may even go buy a yoga ball and bounce on it some. Whatever works right?? My friend Chelsea shared with me this sweet poem that I’ve been thinking about a lot and wanted to share it with you…
These Last Few Hours
It is important to me that I spend a part
of the new few hours here ~
alone with you in the darkness.
You and I will never be this close again
By morning you will be a tiny person ~
All your own.
No longer the kicking demanding bulge in my body
that I have grown to love so well.
I hope you will be safe on your journey tonight
I ask for strength to help you all I can
Again you signal,
your impatience to be free ~
time to wake your Daddy.
There is nothing like holding your sweet baby for the first time, enjoy these last moments of having your sweet one all to yourself. It’s a little selfish but fun to hog them for this long. Good Luck on your delivery and can’t wait to hear the good news!
Your dream today made me tear up! I am 39 weeks and can’t wait to see my husbands face either. Praying everything goes great for you and baby!
Just got goosebumps! I hope when yo’re all settled in I can meet the little guy and we can FINALLY meet for coffee!
congrats to you – and your soon to be beautiful family of three!
Hello, just wanted to tell you not to worry. Gods timing is perfect. I went over my due date and was scheduled to be induced. The day of induction..was the day my baby was born..so there was no need. He will come! 🙂
(friend of your mom’s from IBM) Have been following your blog for weeks. You look BEAUTIFUL! Your baby will be BEAUTIFUL! And he will be here soon! Try to relax and wait patiently, you will have many many happy days together as a family!
Aww. Cherish those last couple of days as much as you can! 🙂 You’ll miss it.
I’ve been following your blog for just over a year now and I’d just found out I was pregnant when you announced that you were so of course I’ve loved reading about your pregnancy journey! The poem is just beautiful and such a lovely and true thought. Sending you love for these last few days before baby arrives!
From a girl who went to 41 weeks and 5 days just last September before labor came- it’s so true that you really aren’t in control. But your little guy has to come out and he will at the exact and perfect moment. In the meantime go to the movies, out to eat, sleep in, all the things you won’t be able to do (at least not in the same way) for much longer. Lots of prayers and well wishes. God bless!
You look great Kelly! I loved seeing your pregnancy progress on here and I have to say that I carried my first child (my son!) for 42 weeks and I hope you go sooner than that! We eventually had to evict him! Those last two weeks were tough because I was so anxious but of course it’s worth it! He’s 3 1/2 now and still more wonderful every day! Good Luck!
Hey, remember we had the same due date. Well our little wonder came 4 weeks early including a LOOONG stay at the hospital before it. And then NICU. She is now 4 weeks old, and still tiny. It was not a good time, and the worst was coming home, with an empty belly, leaving my baby girl all allone in the hospital.
So, i hope you can enjoy those last DAYS, maybe weeks 😉
and you will pop a healthy baby. 🙂
Love
I love the poem! Thank you for sharing! I am 39 weeks and anxiously awaiting the arrival of my own little man while trying to trust God’s timing. Hope your sweet one comes this week and all goes well!
Praying for you and your little one!
I hope everything is going well! I look forward to seeing a post that says your sweet little one is here!
Go take a nap!
Happy birthing! You can do it! Enjoy those fresh baby snuggles and don’t give up nursing if you have your heart set on it. Having a new baby can be very hard, but it’s not TOO hard. If He brings you to it, He’ll bring you through it! <3
Yay! Congratulations on the new baby! Can’t wait to see pictures!!
