D and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary this past weekend by heading down to Lanesboro and staying at a Bed & Breakfast. It was our first experience staying at a B&B and we really enjoyed it! The 3-course breakfasts were fabulous – chocolate chip scones, fresh fruit yogurt parfaits, mexican egg bake, croissant french toast.. just to name a few! They had already decorated for Christmas too which was a nice surprise. To be honest, I thought it was going to be a little weird having breakfast with strangers but I actually enjoyed talking with the other guests there.
D and I also had some time to go explore, shop, get photos done, and go to the theater. It was nice to get away for a little while, relax, and reflect on our 7 years of being together. It’s funny how you can know someone for so long and still there are things to learn. One thing I learned this past weekend about D is how he approaches being the leader of our family. He shared that when there’s a situation to deal with and he has first taken into account how we both feel, he then tries to remove ‘himself’ from the equation and approach it from a neutral point-of-way. That way he is not leading with selfish intentions. Hearing that, just confirmed once again that I am married to someone I truly trust, respect, and admire. Happy Anniversary Dustin!
Congratulations! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend too (one year!!)!! Something about staying at an B&B sounds so idyllic. Love the pictures!
Thanks Jennifer – Congrats to you and your hubby! Hope you did something fun too!
Happy Anniversary! To Kill A Mocking Bird was my favorite book to read in school. How was the play?
Thanks Jen – the play was great, the actors and actresses were phenomenal and we had great seats!
Happy Anniversary. Your marriage is an encouragement, especially in the times we’re living. I can’t wait for baby Hicks!! The fruit of this lovely union.
