NEWTOWN

My heart aches for Newtown today. My thoughts have been consumed with what happened on Friday and my prayers go out to all the parents and loved ones. The children’s Christmas program at church had new meaning, new thankfulness. I couldn’t sit there without thinking about those families. Little ones who did not get to sing. My heart cries to the Lord. You alone are my hope; You are love. You lift up those little ones. Please sustain those families. Thank you for my own… for Jack, for Dustin. When the world seems dark, I turn to you. You are the light.

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. – John 8:12

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. – John 16:33
