So I finally broke down and went shopping for maternity clothes. I tried on a million things but ended up only buying a pair of leggings, comfy pants, and this shirt. Anyone have had better luck maternity shopping? While some things looked cute on the hanger, when I put it on it looked like a tent. Boo. Hopefully I’ll have better luck next time. I think I’ll be sticking more with non-maternity clothes that are cut to fit the bump. So far it seems like my go-to outfits are long tanks or tunics with a cardigan or blazer over.. sometimes with a belt, sometimes not. Which is pretty much this outfit…
I’m wearing:
Boyfriend Blazer: Urban Outfitters
Shirt: Motherhood Maternity
Stretch Jeans: H&M
Boot Wedges: TJ Maxx
Necklaces: Target
I’m pretty much obsessed with these shoes ^^ Super comfy, makes me taller (always a good thing!) and easy to walk in 🙂
I had found some cute tops/tunics and jeans (black skinnies) at H&M
Ooo good to know! Thanks Allison!
H&M have great maternity clothes, but the best I’ve found is ASOS – gorgeous dresses and shirts! They ship from the UK but in my opinion it’s worth it, and sometimes they have a free international shipping event.
I cursed M* shopping and am glad to have no more of it because baby is due in just a few days. I am tall and baby is sticking striaght out. This means nothing, NOTHING fits right OR looks good on me, not even coats. My Staples: –eggings, rubber bands around buttons and through button holes, maternity bands (aka tanks with the straps cut off) to hide the rubber band and keep my pants up, larger thrifted buttonup shirts, and loose sweaters. I bought one pair of M* pants and that was it! Good luck.
It’s SO hard to find maternity clothes that look good! I got stuff at Old Navy, and bought a lot of cheap shirts at Target, just one size up. It’s no fun feeling like you are wearing a tent!!
i was big pregnant during the summer… so i wanted to live in shorts and tanks. i’m no help. but you are an adorable pregnant lady! 😉
Ok…
Love the entire outfit.
LOVE the jacket.
Want to steal the shoes!
And the bump! soooo precious!
I seriously can’t get over you hair!!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!
Hi! I also really don’t like most pregnancy clothes…but I did get a belly band (found at target) this time, so I can wear my ‘normal’ jeans as my tummy grows. But I’m not very fashionable…so I will be watching to see the cute stuff you find!
Found your blog awhile ago- just had a baby 2 weeks ago, so I thought I might comment as I just went through the whole “what do I wear phase?” I found from about 16-32 weeks I wore more maternity clothes because alot of the shapes help you look pregnant (and you really want to look pregnant) and more towards the end I wore less maternity clothes, because the fitted look of old clothes was very cute. The last 2 weeks, I wore whatever still fit. 🙂
But I did want to say, some Forever 21’s have a “love” maternity line- I got jeans for $14 that I probably wore a 100 times. The clearance racks at Target always have Liz Lange. Both are much more worth it than MM stores. You will look great!!
Asos has a US store and super cute maternity stuff (in petite too!): us.asos.com and shockingly forever21 has some pretty cute maternity stuff! Embrace the bump 🙂 I miss mine <3
Ooo thanks for all the advice everyone! Glad to hear I’m not the only one struggling with what to wear while pregnant! Sounds like I have some shopping to do 🙂
h&m all the way.
then i always hit the clearance racks at places like ross and marshalls for the sweater dresses, or just cute dresses from the jr section. i would get a size large and it fit like a cute shirt, i would wear it with leggings, or jeans … when you go with the jr size dresses, they don’t hang off you like maternity clothes it hugs your bump and you can find WAY cuter styles and it is cheaper than those expensive maternity clothes!!!

Pinkblush maternity has super cute fashionable clothes- cheap too! I had a lot of luck with Zulily too! Also- Nordstroms will have designer jeans that go on sale! Until mid 20-term you can get away with normal clothes! This is my 4th baby!
